A tailor-made showcase website for a Swiss craftsman specialised in blinds and sun protection.
The goal: give a craftsman's know-how a modern, clear and reassuring online presence that showcases the work and makes getting in touch easy.
I handled the design and the full development, from content to going live on Vercel, with a custom domain.
Built like a blind.
Where it started
Twenty years in the trade, three generations, job sites all over French-speaking Switzerland: the craftsmanship was there, the shopfront was not. The old website brought in nothing: not a single quote request came through the internet, everything ran on phone calls and word of mouth.
The brief fit in one sentence: a site that looks like the trade, builds trust, and turns a visit into a quote request.
The approach
The first thing you see is not the website: it is a blind opening. On load, the screen is shut behind midnight-blue slats that lift one after another, the way you raise a blind in the morning. Within a second, before you read a single word, you know whose site you are on.
The rest of the site carries the wink further: the menu button is a tiny venetian blind that rolls up, the menu unfolds in slats, and the slatted-blind product card flips between “Closed” and “Open”, just like the product it presents.
The build
The site answers, in order, the questions clients actually ask a craftsman: what do you install, where do you work, what have you already built, how do I reach you. The family story, the products, completed jobs town by town with real photos from the field, the partner brands, and a quote form that lands straight in the company inbox.
Technically, it is the opposite of overengineered: a single static page, fast, no cookies, no banner, and a configuration file commented line by line so the company can change a phone number themselves without touching the code.

What it changed
The site has become the company's official address, on its own domain. And the counter went from zero to ten: 10 quote requests in the first week, arriving on their own in the inbox.
A craftsman who used to get zero enquiries online now gets them every week, without changing anything about the way he works.
