An all-in-one platform that gathers a small business's daily tools: finance, files, tickets, calendar, notes, in one place.
HubTools was born from a simple observation: small businesses juggle ten tools that don't talk to each other. I wanted one hub, mobile-first, that centralises everything without the complexity of an ERP.
I designed and coded the whole thing, from the multi-tenant architecture to the interface, including an encrypted vault, finance imports, realtime and a sovereign AI layer for onboarding.
The product is live, multilingual (fr/en/zh/pt/de), and keeps evolving with feedback from real users.
Five tools, one roof.
Where it started
Running a small business means stacking one tool for projects, another for finances, a third for clients, and just as many invoices landing every month. Subscriptions pile up, data scatters, and nothing talks to anything else.
The HubTools homepage says it plainly, in giant letters: “Stop paying for 5 subscriptions.” The whole product starts from that sentence.
The approach
Rather than one giant app that does everything half-well, HubTools splits into standalone apps: Finance and Projects are live, Business and Fitness show “Coming soon”. Each app has its own navigation, its own colour, its own front door, like a creative suite where you open the tool that fits the job at hand.
Everything stays connected, though: one account opens every door, your session follows you from app to app, and the central hub is the way in. You move from the project board to the budget without switching software: you just change rooms.
The build
Financial documents go into an end-to-end encrypted vault: the key is derived from the vault password right in the browser, so the server never sees anything in the clear. The files themselves sleep in Geneva at Infomaniak, hence the badge on the page: “Documents hosted in Switzerland.”
The same logic drives Finance's AI advisor: it runs on Apertus, a model built by EPFL and ETH Zurich and hosted in Switzerland. Add five languages, from French to Mandarin, and screens that update in real time: a Swiss product down to the details.
What it changed
A small business swaps five subscriptions for one workspace: projects, finances and documents finally live in the same place, in the same interface, behind a single login.
The product is live and free for the whole beta: at this stage I would rather collect feedback than payments. Real users set the roadmap, one app at a time.
